David Raya, the goalkeeper that Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in over the summer, is now being eyed by Bayern Munich.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano provided further insights into the German champion’s chase for the 27-year-old footballer.
The Brentford goalkeeper’s summer was full of intrigue.
Raya had a significant role in The Bees’ victory over champions Manchester City last season, which was presumed to be his last appearance for Brentford.
Brentford recruited Mark Flekken, the seasoned Dutch international from Freiburg, as Raya’s replacement and valued Raya at £40m.
Raya was a key prospect for Tottenham as they sought a successor for Hugo Lloris.

However, the negotiations didn’t mature, prompting Spurs to look towards another player to replace their team leader.
As Bayern starts discussions with Raya, their transfer agenda seems to coincide with Tottenham’s.
Spurs might be relieved that they are not currently vying for Raya as Daniel Levy wouldn’t prefer battling it out with Bayern for another player.
Bayern Negotiating with Raya Following Tottenham’s Interest
Romano posted on Twitter: “Bayern are initiating talks for David Raya. He’s a potential choice as the new goalkeeper.
“Brentford has always been anticipating about £40m for Raya, not an easy deal — Bayern has exhibited interest.
“Sommer is Inter’s top choice for the new goalkeeper, not Dibu Martínez.”
