Tottenham’s coach, Ange Postecoglou, has identified a core area requiring augmentation this summer.
The team has already secured three permanent transfers, however, their defensive challenges have not been addressed yet.
It is expected that Cristian Romero would be Postecoglou’s primary centre-back after he declined propositions to leave the team.
Nevertheless, there’s lesser assurance in his fellow teammates’ capacity to deliver at an elite level, as several of them are reportedly being considered for departures.
Tottenham is hopeful that Ashley Phillips will be one of the defenders strengthening their ranks this summer.
