An offer from Napoli for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has allegedly been turned down by Tottenham Hotspur. Manager Ange Postecoglou is interested in granting Ndombele another shot at proving himself.
French news outlet L’Equipe reports that chances may come Ndombele’s way to prove himself worthy to Postecoglou in the foreseeable future.
After a season of loan at Napoli, Ndombele is back at Hotspur Way. He played an instrumental role in the team’s Serie A title victory during Luciano Spalletti’s tenure.

The 26-year-old player faced marginalization from Spurs under Antonio Conte due to a series of uninspiring performances, with his lackluster display against Morecambe in the 2021-2022 FA Cup being a prominent example.
There were widespread speculations that Ndombele would be transferred elsewhere this summer, especially after two unsuccessful loans in the last year and a half. However, Postecoglou seems keen to provide Ndombele another shot at proving himself at Spurs.
Unsuccessful Bid by Napoli to Acquire Ndombele
L’Equipe, sourced by Sport Witness, indicates that Napoli’s proposal of approximately €20 million for a permanent deal with Ndombele was turned down.
Posrecoglou’s recent appointment may have resulted in a change in Ndombele’s immediate future.
The Australian manager, known to have long admired the ex-Lyon midfielder, plans to incorporate him into his team.
It’s crucial for Ndombele to perform well during pre-season. Failure to do so might still result in his removal from the team.

It’s undeniable that Ndombele is an extraordinary talent and when he joined Tottenham in 2019, big things were expected. However, despite changing hands among four different managers at Spurs, Ndombele has yet to shine.
He had a promising phase playing under Jose Mourinho, with a freer role in the team.
While such a role seems unlikely under Postecoglou’s guidance, the Australian Manager appears to be willing to give the midfielder a second chance.
Ndombele’s performances over the years have been met with mixed reactions from Tottenham fans. Nevertheless, all agree on his potential to succeed in the Premier League.
His fate at Spurs will largely depend on his commitment during the upcoming training and pre-season matches.
Having shown his firm approach in team-building in the past, Postecoglou will not hesitate to let Ndombele go if he does not fit into his plans.
