Alfie Whiteman, a goalkeeper for Tottenham Hotspur, has sustained a grave injury during pre-season training today.

Tottenham is gearing up for their next summer friendly game against Lion City Sailors in Singapore tomorrow.
The team of Ange Postecoglou was due to face off against Leicester City in Thailand on Sunday, however, severe weather conditions led to the cancellation of the game.
The Australian coach has been diligently incorporating his playing style during the pre-season Asian tour. Nonetheless, Postecoglou is now confronting a new challenge as Alfie Whiteman has been afflicted with a knee injury in training.
Whiteman Incurs Injury During Training
Gold updated on Twitter on Tuesday morning when Tottenham players were engaged in a public training session in Singapore.
The reporter asserts Whiteman was carried off the field on a stretcher after suffering substantial discomfort. It is plausible that he has incurred a crippling knee injury.
His tweet read: “Alfie Whiteman stretchered off in substantial pain during Spurs’ public training session in Singapore. Grave injury. Implication that it could be his knee.”
Whiteman climbed the ranks through the Spurs academy and was involved in successful loan operations in Sweden with Degerfors.
The English goalkeeper has yet to witness his competitive debut for Tottenham and has not participated in pre-season till now. Brandon Austin has been preferred over Whiteman for the second half against West Ham.
Despite Tottenham already securing their primary goalkeeper for the season in Guglielmo Vicario, the loss of Whiteman due to an injury represents a hurdle, especially with the backup goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, presently unavailable.
Whiteman perhaps contemplated his choices this summer to secure regular primary-team play and hopes that the injury doesn’t deter him from activity for an extended time.
