Oliver Skipp Commends Rapid Rise of a Skilful 20-Year-Old Tottenham Star

Oliver Skipp, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed his admiration for Pape Matar Sarr’s rise.

While attending a press conference during Tottenham’s pre-season tour, Skipp answered questions concerning Skipp, reports were taken from Football London.

The 22-year-old player has had an exciting summer so far.

He was an integral part of the England team that triumphed at the Under-21 European Championships.

During the championships, Oliver Skipp only played from the start once, but he was consistently included by Lee Carsley as a substitute in every match.

After a brief break, the midfielder promptly returned to early pre-season training to gain favour with the new manager, Ange Postecoglou.

His performance in his initial training days must have impressed since he was put in the starting line-up against West Ham United the previous week.

Skipp has recently been taken aback by fellow player Pape Matar Sarr’s abilities.

The 20-year-old player from Senegal hasn’t gotten many chances since he transferred from Metz two years back.

However, his incredible talent has caught both Skipp and Postecoglou’s eye.

Skipp’s Admiration for Tottenham Colleague Sarr

Regarding playing with Sarr against AC Milan in the previous season, Skipp said, “it was enjoyable playing with Pape, thanks to our frequent training together and developed a natural comprehension of our play styles.”

“Sometimes he would advance forward, and I would cover for him; he is such a talent – it’s easy to overlook he’s just 20.”

“His exceptional skills are important assets for him, and it’s always delightful to share the field with such talents,” said Skipp.

Under Postecoglou, Tottenham transitioned from a two-player midfield format to one consisting of three players.

Influenced by young talents, next season might bring more opportunities for both Skipp and Sarr, courtesy of Postecoglou.

In Postecoglou’s system, while Skipp may be well suited as the main defensive midfielder, Sarr has potential as an extraordinary box-to-box player.

The 20-year-old demonstrates confidence in possession, holds excellent ball control, and displays a knack for accurate passing.

Having already played in many first-team games outside of Spurs, Sarr aims to progress in his career in North London.

If Postecoglou decides not to give Sarr regular field time, the best option would be to let him play on loan in the upcoming matches.
