Insiders reveal that Tottenham Hotspur might add an impressive talent to their roster through the introduction of Ashley Phillips.
Well-known sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the teenaged center-back is set to undergo a medical examination within the next day.
New appointed manager Ange Postecoglou has already been active in the summer transfer market.
The possible addition of James Maddison may significantly change the game dynamics whereas Guglielmo Vicario is expected to take the role of primary goalkeeper.
But, there is a demand for investment in the center-back position.
Even though Cristian Romero displayed outstanding performance during the World Cup representing Argentina, struggled to replicate the same after returning to Tottenham.

Unfortunately, none of his potential partners have shown commendable performance lately, thus Tottenham’s defense seems a bit shaky.
While Ashley Phillips may not solve Tottenham’s defensive issues right away, he has been widely touted as an exceptional talent.
Tony Mowbray, his former manager, speaks highly of the youngster’s talent and prospects.
Tottenham Might Secure Deal with Remarkable Phillips
The Evening Standard published Mowbray’s reflections on Phillips, remarking: “At 6ft 4in, Phillips possesses speed, mobility, and remarkable passing skills. He’s adept with both feet and maintains his calm.
“Ash is a standout young player. He has all the desirable traits you would want in a defender.”
Despite being only 18, Phillips has already represented England at the Under-19 level and played 14 senior games for Blackburn.
These accomplishments establish him as a promising future prospect for Spurs.
Apart from Phillips, Postecoglou also has academy players Maksim Paskotsi and Alfie Dorrington on his radar.
However, Phillips carries valuable first-team club-level experience, something his potential peers at Tottenham do not have.

Paskotsi can indeed argue that his senior team caps for Estonia make him prepared to transition from youth football.
Philips would be an investment for the future who’s predicted to shine in the long run, and it would be interesting to see if Postecoglou decides to loan him or retain him within the senior squad.
The expectation is that it wouldn’t take long before Phillips becomes a regular player in Tottenham’s first team.
