In the past, Tottenham has shown substantial interest in Alessandro Bastoni.
It’s been a consistent rumour for the past two years that Spurs are eager to recruit Bastoni. However, it seems the defender won’t be relocating to north London just yet.
Despite being a £53m player that Spurs admire, Ben Jacobs, who spoke on The Debrief Podcast, stated explicitly that Bastoni will not be part of their roster this summer.

Unattainable Bastoni
Jacobs revealed his insights regarding Bastoni.
“Given the type of players Tottenham target, they’ve previously shown interest in Milan Skriniar, now at PSG, and Bastoni, who Inter isn’t letting go. It’s interesting how often discussions about centre-backs include their ability to take on a central midfielder’s responsibilities,” Jacobs eluded.

Disappointment
How is it that Bastoni, a player who could potentially uplift Tottenham’s game tremendously, remains unattainably out of reach?
For years now, Spurs have desired Bastoni, knowing they need a new left-sided centre-back for four transfer windows, but still remain unable to secure him.
No doubt, Bastoni could help resolve many of Spurs’ issues right away, but unfortunately, Inter Milan isn’t prepared to let him go. Once Inter Milan sets its position on a player, it’s typically unshakable.
However, Tottenham is already searching for other options, with potential recruits Micky Van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba on the radar. Even though Bastoni remains out of reach, Spurs may finally relinquish their hopes of signing the Italian if they find a suitable replacement this summer.
