Spurs Takes Steps to Sign 19-Year-Old Targeted by Celtic’s Postecoglou

Journalist Ed Aarons has reported that Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in signing 19-year-old player, Oscar Gloukh, from Red Bull Salzburg.

On Tuesday morning, Aarons announced on Twitter that Spurs, along with several other leading clubs, are closely observing the young midfielder.

This summer, Tottenham has strengthened its team by recruiting James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and potentially Manor Solomon, to North London.

Spurs’ manager Ange Postecoglou has been busy modifying his team to mirror his management style.

Known for discovering hidden gems, Postecoglou had a successful stint at Celtic where he rebuilt the team with lesser-known talents.

Oscar Gloukh was reported to be one of the players on Postecoglou’s radar during his time in Glasgow.

During his time at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Gloukh captured the attention of Postecoglou, as reported by The Daily Record last year in September.

Now it appears that Tottenham is considering acquiring the young player, only half a year after he began playing for Salzburg.

Spurs Probing Possibility of Signing Gloukh

According to Aarons, Gloukh has caught the attention of several top-tier clubs throughout Europe.

Aarons says that Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, as well as Tottenham, have all displayed interest in signing him.

So far, Tottenham’s recruitment strategy this summer has been focused on young talent, as they aim to launch a long-term project under Postecoglou.

Gloukh is showing promise during his brief tenure with Salzburg, contributing to four goals in 15 games in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Showing his prowess on an international stage, he’s also doing well with Israel’s Under-21s team at the European Championships this summer and due to play against England in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Regardless, Tottenham will face tough competition in securing Gloukh’s talents as he is drawing attention from numerous reputable teams.

Whether Salzburg will entertain the idea of selling the midfielder, especially considering he only started his contract in Austria seven months ago, remains to be seen.
