Tottenham Hotspur are now in the competition to acquire Joachim Andersen while they once again confront Newcastle United in the upcoming summer transfer period.

The performances of Joachim Andersen in Selhurst Park is drawing a significant amount of attention. The Sun states that Daniel Levy has admired him since his loan season at Fulham.

According to The Sun, Ange Postecoglou seems to be another admirer of Andersen. It’s reported that Tottenham have thrown their hat in the ring for Andersen’s services with Newcastle also expressing interest in the 27-year-old.

Indeed, recent reports from INews over the weekend suggest that Newcastle sees Andersen as a key target in this transfer window.

Meanwhile, Tottenham, who previously succeeded in signing James Maddison, are now thinking of recruiting Andersen to bolster a defence that seriously needs additional manpower.

It seems that Andersen would be a perfect fit for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s playing style under Postecoglou as he’s an exceptional ball passer and his calmness with the ball is much needed under the Australian’s management.

However, the transfer fee is going to be a major challenge for any team willing to sign Andersen. Palace is asking a steep amount for the centre-back and it’s difficult to visualize any team paying such a price.

Should Palace be willing to negotiate, Andersen could turn out to be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham as he is a ‘remarkable’ player.

But it’s likely that the Eagles see no reason to assist their Premier League competitors in this transfer season.
