English Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly probing into the acquisition of Flamengo’s striker Pedro, come the transfer window this summer.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that besides the Spurs, Nottingham Forest and Brentford also have the 26-year-old under their radar.
Pedro has risen to prominence after a stellar season in Brazil. The Selecao forward has netted 26 goals across all competitions and has even united with Richarlison in Tite’s squad for the World Cup last year.
Tottenham’s Eyes on Pedro
Pedro does have prior experience playing in Europe, but his stint with Fiorentina was brief, with just several appearances before departing the Serie A team.
Despite his past, the player may get another shot at playing in Europe soon, with Tottenham, Forest, and the Bees reportedly eager to snag Pedro.
In other news, Saudi Pro League’s Al-Hilal is also seeking to attract the forward. However, according to the report, Flamengo has yet to receive any solid offer.
Given the ongoing speculations about Harry Kane’s future, it’s not shocking to see Tottenham linked with several forwards.
Ange Postecoglou, having a history of unearthing diamonds in the rough, likely recognizes Pedro’s potential.
Pedro’s record reveals he’s quite the goal machine, netting 93 goals in 190 games for Flamengo across all contests. Ex-Brazilian international Magno Alves even described him as a player who ‘has it all’.
