Potential Replacement for Harry Kane Identified: Tottenham Eyeing ‘Savvy’ Penalty Specialist

Amid increasing speculations of Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich, Tottenham is actively scouting potential substitutes.

Bayern’s keen inquisition into Kane seems unrelenting. While Kane has not expressed an overt desire to transfer, there has been no evidence of him signing a new contract either.

Given these circumstances, Tottenham is preparing a contingency plan. As per a report by the Daily Mail, Brazilian striker Arthur Cabral has caught their attention.

Last season, Cabral made his mark by netting 17 goals for Fiorentina. Since his move to Europe, the 25-year-old has impressed with his penalty taking expertise.

As per a post from Breaking the Lines, Cabral, termed as a ‘smart scorer’, demonstrated exceptional accuracy by successfully converting each of his first 11 penalty kicks since his arrival in Europe.

If Tottenham ends up selling Kane to Bayern, it could pose a significant problem for them this summer season. Daniel Levy is aware that finding a suitable replacement could require more than just one player.

Cabral’s Potential for Tottenham

However, this doesn’t inherently mean that Cabral is a like-for-like Kane substitute. It’s an uphill task to find a player that could closely emulate Kane’s impact.

The possible departure of Kane signifies a considerable predicament for Tottenham. Much like when Gareth Bale exited, it throws up a critical challenge for Spurs: Do they invest in one big-name replacement or diversify their spending over multiple players?

The strategy of signing several players with the money from Bale’s sale wasn’t successful in the past. However, it remains to be seen how this experience might influence Tottenham’s decision-making if and when Kane departs.

Undeniably, Cabral is an accomplished striker with a lot to bring to the table. But equating him to Harry Kane would be far-fetched.
