Tottenham Hotspur is reported to be seriously thinking about acquiring Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher during this summer’s transfer period.
The Telegraph, in its report, indicates that the 23-year-old Gallagher is on Tottenham’s radar as the club seeks to enhance their performance following a lackluster season last year.
Tottenham has hit the ground running in the summer transfer window.
The addition of James Maddison from Leicester City appears to be an impressive acquisition, filling a noticeable void in Ange Postecoglou’s team.
Following an exceptional Serie A season, Guglielmo Vicario is ready to step into the shoes of Hugo Lloris as the goalkeeper, while Manor Solomon infuses impressive attacking depth into the squad.
However, the team’s defense is a spot that visibly requires bolstering.
In response, Spurs are hustling to negotiate and finalize deals with Micky Van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba.
Despite the new signings, the club is expected to lose some players, one of them potentially being Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Hoijberg, who is linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, may see Conor Gallagher as his potential successor at Tottenham.
The England international Gallagher exudes immense potential, is home-grown, and can adeptly fit into Postecoglou’s preferred system, making him a great asset.
However, maneuvering a deal with one of their biggest competitors could be a challenge.
Gallagher on Tottenham’s Wish List
The Telegraph report suggests that Gallagher is now squarely ‘on Tottenham’s list’.
The midfielder is seen as a potential replacement for Hojbjerg but could cost Tottenham a hefty £50m this summer.
Tottenham’s famous striker Harry Kane has already expressed his admiration for Gallagher, calling him ‘great’ when Gallagher made his international debut against Switzerland last year.
Since then, the pair have consistently met during international duties, leading to Kane developing an opinion on the young midfielder.

Taking the current situation at Chelsea into account, Tottenham might sense an opportunity to strike a deal for Gallagher.
Hoping to offload several players this season, especially since Newcastle’s reported interest in Gallagher, Chelsea might just be open to the idea.
Gallagher, a hard-working midfielder with exceptional skills showcased during his tenure at Crystal Palace, could be a valuable addition to any team.
Although it is not fair to judge any Chelsea player based on their last season’s performance given the ongoing turmoil at the club, Gallagher might be tempted by an opportunity to be a crucial part of another team away from the disturbances.
