Pape Matar Sarr, a notable player from the Tottenham Hotspur, took to Instagram to extend his congratulations to Arnaut Danjuma who has finalized a transfer to Everton.
Danjuma’s successful switch to Everton was announced officially on Sunday, with him temporarily stepping away from Villarreal for the football season.
In the past, Danjuma showed interest in engaging with Goodison Park; however, after completing necessary obligations with Finch Farm, he preferred to collaborate with Tottenham instead.
Despite remarkable performances on a few occasions, he found it hard to get much time on the field under the management of the former Tottenham coach, Antonio Conte.
When Danjuma eventually moved to the Everton team, Pape Matar Sarr, his former Tottenham mate, took the opportunity to send him a heartfelt message over social media.
Message from Sarr to Danjuma
Danjuma enthusiastically shared on Instagram pictures of himself clad in the Everton jersey.
In his post, he expressed his good fortune with the phrase, “Second time lucky.”
Fellow footballers, Max Aarons from Norwich City and Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina fame, joined the chorus of congratulations to Danjuma.
Meanwhile, Sarr responded with a simple but enthusiastic reply that read, “My guy,” followed by a hands-raising emoji.
The team’s coach, Sean Dyche, will indeed be thrilled by Danjuma’s successful transfer to Everton at a time when the team needs to bolster their striking capacity.
In the previous season, Danjuma made significant contributions to Villarreal’s successful run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Everton had issues with consistently scoring last season and Danjuma, being a former forward at Bournemouth, has demonstrated his scoring abilities in the past.
Although his time at Tottenham didn’t go as planned largely because of internal issues at Spurs, his presence will undoubtedly enhance the performance of the Everton team under Dyche’s management.
