The pre-season game saw Tottenham Hotspur pitted against the Singapore Premier League team, Lion City Sailors, with Allen providing the commentary on Spurs Play. Ange Postecoglou’s team was representing Tottenham.
In the early part of the match, Tottenham demonstrated dominance, creating several opportunities to secure a lead.
An impressive pass from Cristian Romero resulted in James Maddison getting a shot at scoring.

Maddison also teamed up with Heung-Min Son towards the left of the field. His shot, however, was deflected away from the goal.
Clive Allen observed Maddison applauding Romero’s beginning pass which contributed to this setup.
Maddison lauds Romero’s passing
Allen, on Spurs Play, highlighted Maddison’s visible appreciation for Romero’s remarkable pass.
“The opening pass that kick-started the move got applause from him,” Allen pointed out.
“A superb pass leading straight to his feet, followed by a swift half-turn, the mutual play with Son, and his deferred shot. The game had a truly promising start,” he said.

Despite their initial control over the game, Tottenham faced a setback when Lion City Sailors scored a counterattack goal in the first half.
The goal was a replay of the earlier friendly game against West Ham where the Spurs lost points against the current play.
Maddison and Kane had near misses in the first half, continuing to create opportunities for Tottenham.
After Pape Matar Sarr was fouled within the box, Kane successfully scored for the Spurs winding up the first half, hence equalizing the score.
Going into the break with a tie after creating numerous scoring opportunities was surely disappointing for Tottenham. Numerous changes for the second half are anticipated from Postecoglou, as the Spurs aim for their first pre-season victory.
