Tottenham player earning £180k per week shows interest in ending contract and switching teams.

Jurnalistic updates from Gianluca Di Marzio propose that Tottenham Hotspur’s defender Ivan Perisic plans on a transfer in the forthcoming summer season.

The reporter posted on Twitter: “Ivan Perisic nearing a return to Croatia with Hajduk. His contract with Spurs is expected to be terminated soon for the move’s completion.”

Perisic, now 34, was acquired last summer as part of Antonio Conte’s signing but has had a less-than-satisfying season and Tottenham secured the eighth position in the division.

The club has initiated a revamp, meaning some of the current players, including Ivan Perisic, could be on their way out.

Perisic planning to sever ties with Tottenham

Of course, terminating Perisic’s contract implies Tottenham would forfeit the transfer fee related to the player.

Given Perisic’s age, losing him this summer shouldn’t significantly affect the club. The player’s hefty £180k-a-week paycheck could lead to considerable financial savings for the Spurs.

It’s evident that Perisic has plans elsewhere. The incoming manager Ange Postecoglou won’t appreciate having discontented players in the club next season.

It seems mutually beneficial for all involved that Perisic parts ways with Spurs and continues his footballing journey in his homeland, Croatia.

Perisic, once lauded as an ‘ unbelievable‘ player, may turn out to be a significant flop in terms of Tottenham’s transfer strategy if he chooses to move this summer.

The Spurs are preparing for a decisive season ahead with the goal of securing a spot in Europe next summer. The new manager, Postecoglou, known as a forward-thinking aggressive leader, could bring about a thrilling season for the club.
