Potential £45m Superior Defender Acquisition by Tottenham After Harry Kane’s Possible Exit

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur might be able to recruit Edmond Tapsoba if Harry Kane is sold off during this summer.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he revealed that contacts are still maintained between Spurs and people associated closely with Tapsoba.

Efforts have been made by Spurs to enlist Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon for this summer. However, finding a new central defender has been a tad tougher.

Speculations are high about Tottenham trying to secure deals with Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba and Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano claimed recently that Spurs are still working on acquiring Tapsoba.

Yet, since Bayer Leverkusen is obstinate about their player’s valuation, it appears that Harry Kane’s potential exit could pave the way for Spurs to bring Tapsoba on board.

Tottenham’s Potential Tapsoba Deal Might Benefit from Kane’s Departure

Romano indicated during his conversation with GiveMeSport that the possible sale of Kane may make it easier for Tottenham to bring in Tapsoba this summer.

“Tottenham still maintains a close relationship with Tapsoba’s associates at Bayer Leverkusen,” stated the journalist. “In my view, Kane’s situation can have an impact as well.

“If Kane departs and Spurs find themselves flush with investment funds, securing Tapsoba becomes a possible scenario, otherwise, it may prove challenging.”

Rumors have been circulating about Kane’s possible move to Bayern Munich this summer. They have considered Spurs’ key player as their main target, with further discussions planned for this week between both clubs.

Currently, it seems very probable that Kane might leave this summer, with Bayern being his most likely choice.

Nevertheless, if Kane does decide to leave, Tottenham could significantly reinforce their squad in the upcoming weeks.

A new central defender is something Ange Postecoglou wishes to bring into his team, and Tapsoba seems to be the perfect pick for Spurs.

After displaying an incredible performance for Leverkusen in Germany, the 24-year-old has been lauded as an ‘extraordinary’ talent.

Leverkusen reportedly seeks a minimum bid of £45 million for Tapsoba, the international player from Burkina Faso, to let him go this summer.

Regardless of Kane’s future, Tottenham appears poised to acquire at least one new central defender. However, should Kane leave during the summer, it might allow Spurs to recruit both Tapsoba and Van de Ven.
