Atletico Madrid has shown interest in acquiring the valuable Tottenham player.
In today’s episode of his Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano asserted that Hojbjerg is indeed seeking fresh challenges.
“At present, there’s no official bid yet. It’s important to make that clear. However, it’s true that Atletico Madrid is interested in Hojbjerg. He is seen as a strong player by them, fitting well with Diego Simeone’s style,” said Romano.
“From what I have been informed, Hojbjerg is eager to explore a new experience. After several years at Tottenham, he is interested in a change of league, country, and club.
“There is no formal offer as we speak. For Atletico Madrid, striking a balance is crucial. But there have been discussions, and there was an approach from Atletico Madrid. Hojbjerg is one of their preferred options in his position. However, the talks are not at an advanced stage yet.”
Beneficial Move for All Parties
If Tottenham is given the chance to find a replacement, it could be a mutually beneficial move. Hojbjerg has always been a committed Tottenham player, delivering notable performances overall.
However, given that Postecoglou’s more attacking style of play is anticipated, Hojbjerg could increasingly find himself sidelined.
