23-year-old Tottenham Player Gets Applauded for his Dynamic 8/10 Outing Against West Ham

With an exciting 3-2 defeat to West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur ushered in the Ange Postecoglou era.

Despite the loss, the Spurs showed a captivating performance filled with many promising aspects for the players and coaching team to build upon.

However, the team’s consistent issue with defensive weakness came to light once again during this match.

In the opening goal by Danny Ings, the Spurs failed to clear a corner, which led Jarrod Bowen to pick up the ball on the right wing.

Despite the efforts of Sergio Reguilon, the Hammers striker maneuvered around him and scored using his teammate’s assist.

West Ham then increased their lead when Divin Mubama scored from a corner conceded by Guglielmo Vicario.

Results after a series of substitutions by the Postecoglou at halftime were promising, Tottenham continued their control over the game.

The Spurs struck through Giovani Lo Celso who slotted home via Lukasz Fabianski’s legs.

Soon after, debutant Destiny Udogie equalized for Tottenham with another set piece.

Unfortunately, Tottenham ended up conceding another goal when Gianluca Scamacca ran past and successfully beat Brandon Austin.

Even though they lost, many Tottenham players got appreciable recognition for their individual performances.

One such exceptional performer was Manor Solomon, he was easily the best Spurs player in the first half.

‘A Self-assured and Straightforward Approach With the Ball’

Three post-match review platforms praised the 23-year-old new addition to the Tottenham team.

Football London rated Solomon 8 out of 10 and appreciated his synergy with Reguilon. According to them, his debut at Tottenham was impressive.

‘He was assertive and straightforward with the ball. With a number of attempts at scoring and a potential penalty scenario, he showed great efforts,’ they commented.

Evening Standard gave him a score of 7 out of 10.

They recognised his vitality and versatility, stating, ‘Arguably the best Tottenham player in the first half, he was influential in inside situations.’

‘Regretfully fell short of scoring or assisting,’ they added.

The review by 90Min also scored Solomon 7 out of 10: ‘Always ready to participate and was the main orchestrator of Spurs’ early opportunities.’

There’s no doubt that Solomon’s performance has got Postecoglou excited.
