Valuation Deemed Too High for Tottenham’s Preferred Signing

Recent reports indicate that the asking price for Conor Gallagher, currently targeted by Tottenham Hotspur, is above what the Premier League team is ready to pay.

In his latest 90min article, Graeme Bailey reports that Tottenham has a strong interest in the midfielder this summer. It seems West Ham and Brighton are likewise intrigued.

As it stands, Chelsea is open to a sale but they are adamant about their present evaluation of Gallagher. They are seeking £50million for him this transfer season.

The club’s current valuation for the midfielder is a cost that Tottenham isn’t in a position to pay. They continue to observe the player’s progress.

Tottenham Unprepared to Meet Gallagher’s Valuation

One can understand why Chelsea, having made substantial financial investments over time, want to fetch a hefty price for players they’re ready to offload.

Signing a versatile midfielder like Gallagher, with proven defensive skills and scoring prowess, would be a smart move for Tottenham.

On top of it, Tottenham might face the exit of crucial midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer. Rumors link him with a potential move to Atletico Madrid.

At 23, Gallagher is an outstanding player full of potential who could be the ideal replacement for Hojbjerg, if necessary.

However, a £50million price tag for the English player seems high, more so considering Tottenham’s already considerable expenditure on other players this transfer window.

While manager Ange Postecoglou is in the process of overhauling the team this summer, it seems plausible he could find a more affordable and suitable option elsewhere.
