Giovani Lo Celso, a midfielder of Tottenham Hotspur, has shown drastic changes in his behavior since the appointment of new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Senior journalist Alasdair Gold expressed these insights about the 27-year-old player on the Gold and Guest Podcast.

Giovani Lo Celso seems to have found a revival in his career with Tottenham.

After being sidelined by Antonio Conte, Ange Postecoglou has provided him an opportunity to prove his worth.

The new manager is quite impressed with his training performance and he has played in both pre-season friendly matches so far.

It was not anticipated that Lo Celso would participate in Tottenham’s match against West Ham in Perth.

Nevertheless, due to Tanguy Ndombele’s injury, an opportunity was created in the squad which Lo Celso grabbed fully.

Lo Celso was allowed to play the second half against the Lion City Sailors in Singapore, where he managed to score in Tottenham’s 5-1 victory.

Gold suggests that Lo Celso’s attitude has significantly transformed during his brief spell under Postecoglou.

This might be the reason why Postecoglou, who hails from Australia, might be considering to retain him for the forthcoming season.

Postecoglou has influenced Lo Celso’s behaviour

Gold remarked about the Argentine international player: “He [Ange Postecoglou] admires Lo Celso’s playing style, it aligns perfectly with his system and he felt that Lo Celso also appreciates their playing strategy.

“The crucial aspect is that Lo Celso’s off-field behaviour also seems to have changed as per my understanding.

“It’s visible, he appears to be happier in general. Earlier, he was perhaps more introverted, mainly interacting with his compatriots like [Juan] Foyth and [Paulo] Gazzaniga, and later [Cristian] Romero as well.

“However, now it appears that with age and maturity he has evolved. He’s 27 years old now, celebrated fatherhood last year.

“And now he’s back, extensively mingling with everyone, showcasing more balanced character traits, who is easy to appease and that goes a long way especially when you need to win over a new manager.”

Lo Celso’s positive response to Postecoglou’s appointment and this notable shift in his behavior indicate that he is currently enjoying his tenure with Tottenham.

The midfielder might provide ideal support for James Maddison in the midfield next season while Rodrigo Bentancur is sidelined due to an injury.

Despite Napoli showing interest, it seems like Lo Celso may stick with Spurs for another year.

This would be a surprising reversal considering that just a year ago, Conte was eager to get rid of him.
