There’s a high probability that Clement Lenglet will not return to play for Barcelona in the following season. It appears that the Catalan team is eager to offload the 28-year-old from their roster.

Tottenham Still in the Running to Sign Lenglet

A comeback to Tottenham for Lenglet looked probable. As a matter of fact, Sport asserts that he could have already signed with Spurs for a nominal fee.

However, this is no longer a possibility.

Sport reports that Al-Nassr is now also vying for Lenglet’s autograph and are willing to pay a whopping €15 million to secure his services in the Kingdom.

But Tottenham may not be out of the race just yet. Sport suggests that if Spurs manage to equal Al-Nassr’s bid, chances are that Lenglet could move back to the Premier League.

Generally, one would assume that Tottenham would be alright with Lenglet’s transfer to Saudi Arabia. Had they wanted to commit £12.9 million for him, they would most probably have sealed the deal already.

Lenglet would not have been a poor addition to Tottenham’s roster. His performance for the club in the previous season was satisfactory. It’s vital for Spurs to bolster their defense before the commencement of the new season.

This season starts a fresh chapter for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou. However, unless things turn desperate at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it’s tough to picture Spurs outbidding Al-Nassr for the defender.
