Potential £13m Exit for Pochettino Signee: Tottenham Considers Selling

There are reports that Tottenham Hotspur is considering offloading Davinson Sanchez, with potential buyers having to part with approximately £12.8 million this transfer window.

The Daily Mail suggests that a bid to procure the defender has been placed by Galatasaray, a prominent Turkish team.

Mauricio Pochettino was responsible for bringing Sanchez to Spurs in 2017, having been impressed by his performance in Eredivisie with Ajax.

Favorable circumstances including guidance from Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen meant that the Colombian experienced a positive beginning to his time in North London.

However, after a commendable first season, the player has since been on a downward trajectory, unable to maintain his initially demonstrated potential.

As a result, his future at Tottenham appears to be in doubt, with Galatasaray showing interest in securing him this summer.

Tottenham Open to Sanchez Sale

According to The Daily Mail, Galatasaray has placed a bid of £6.4 million for Sanchez.

The winning team of the Turkish Super Lig is reportedly willing to increase the bid up to £7.7 million to do a summer deal for the player. However, Spurs are hoping to get close to their £12.8 million valuation.

Sanchez had a challenging time in the previous season, lacking enough playtime under then-manager Antonio Conte.

When he did get a chance to play, the 27-year-old struggled, even facing booing from certain sections of Tottenham fans during a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth.

Given his recent performance issues, it seems like the ideal time for Sanchez to seek a fresh start this summer.

Sanchez’s contract expires next summer, which means this is Spurs’ final chance to secure a decent transfer fee.

Despite the recent downfall, Sanchez has shown his ability to be a formidable defender, like when he replaced Cristian Romero in Conte’s squad towards the end of the 2021-22 season.

But his journey at Spurs hasn’t gone as planned, suggesting a move might be beneficial for him to recoup and regain his form.
