Outstanding Defensive Prospect to be Acquired by Tottenham for A Mere £30m This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur has an opportunity to acquire their pursuit, Aymeric Laporte, for a modest £30m this summer, courtesy of Manchester City planning to monetise the defender.

A story from the Mirror offers more insights about the future of the Spanish international.

Tottenham have at last sealed the deal on a defensive player after over a month’s anticipation.

Youngster Ashley Phillips recently joined Tottenham in North London, moving from Blackburn Rovers.

Ange Postecoglou, this summer, is ready to assess every squad member’s capabilities.

The newly recruited 18-year-old has prior first-team experience and may aspire to be a part of the Spurs playing eleven.

However, Tottenham prioritizes Micky Van de Ven, who is speculated to observe their game against Shakhtar later today.

Aymeric Laporte, another defensive prospect, is on Tottenham’s radar this summer and seems to be within their grasp.

He’s a triumphant figure, and his addition as a ‘remarkable’ center-back would instantly enhance the Spurs team.

The decision whether he will be Postecoglou’s foremost choice is not confirmed, but his attainability may deem him too irresistible to overlook.

Summer Availability of Tottenham’s Target Laporte

The Mirror’s report implies that Laporte’s availability has been initiated due to Josko Gvardiol joining the Etihad’s ranks.

As the 29-year-old descended in hierarchy during the last season, he needs to find a new destination to maintain his regular playing status.

Laporte can now be secured for £30m, but Man City would rather transfer him to a team outside the Premier League.

Armory-oriented teams, including Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham, have reportedly marked Laporte as an interest, but Postecoglou’s necessity for a centre-back surpasses their Premier League adversaries.

Laporte matches the profile as a left-foot-oriented defender and exhibits extraordinary ball possession skills.

Laporte’s acquisition cost might be considerably lesser than that of Van de Ven, however, the Dutch youngster’s potential correlates to his elevated price.

If Laporte remains with Man City towards the transfer window’s closure, Spurs may sense an opportunity to negotiate a lower than their proposed £30m offer.

With vast experience, Laporte would be a marvellous procurement, bringing immense improvement compared to Clement Lenglet, who is also rumoured to be considering a comeback.
