The Athletic reports that Chelsea has set Conor Gallagher’s price at roughly £50 million for this summer, amidst speculation that Tottenham Hotspur’s Ange Postecoglou has his eye on the player.
Chelsea earlier turned down West Ham’s £40million offer for Gallagher, as stated by The Athletic.
Should Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg depart, Tottenham could find themselves in need of a new midfielder, and Gallagher might serve as an excellent replacement. Postecoglou reportedly views him as an ideal fit for his scheme, says The Daily Mail.
Nonetheless, in this summer’s scramble for Gallagher, preferred choice for the Australian manager, Tottenham will be expected to offer a significant sum.

Chelsea Seeks £50m for Gallagher
The Athletic reports that Chelsea has not yet extended a new contract to Gallagher, with his current contract due to end in 2025.
Chelsea has advised other clubs that Gallagher can be purchased at the right price, with £50 million speculated as the figure that could seal the deal.
Gallagher had a fruitful spell with Crystal Palace on loan for the 2021-22 season, but struggled to secure a position in Chelsea’s roster upon returning to Stamford Bridge.
Both Tottenham and West Ham have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Gallagher this summer, but very few believe that either club will meet Chelsea’s substantial requirements.

Tottenham hasn’t made significant recruitments this summer, and it’s doubtful they will pay more for Gallagher than what they paid for James Maddison from Leicester City.
Even though Gallagher is undoubtedly a talented prospect and a good match for Postecoglou’s strategy, the £50 million price tag seems steep for a player with limited playing time at Chelsea in the previous season.
