News: Eminent Footballer on Brink of Contract with Tottenham; Progress with Edmond Tapsoba Slows Down

As of now, Tottenham’s interest is riveted on recruiting new centre-backs, with two players constantly being talked about in recent times.

Names like Tosin Adarabioyo and Clement Lenglet have cropped up; however, Micky Van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba garner the lion’s share of attention.

Per 90Min’s reports, it’s probable that Tottenham is nearing the end of its quest for a new centre-back.

The report suggests that Tottenham’s talks with Van de Ven are progressing better than those with Tapsoba.

At the moment, it seems that Van de Ven may become a Tottenham player before Tapsoba. However, given the dynamic nature of the transfer market, circumstances may shift quickly.

This development is undoubtedly thrilling.

Tottenham is in urgent need of a left-sided centre-back, and Van de Ven seems to be a perfect fit for this position.

Van de Ven is left-footed, known for his superb ball handling and speed, and has in the past been labelled as an “exceptional” defender.

As for Tapsoba, while negotiations are under way, they are not progressing at the same speed as those with Van de Ven. However, Fabrizio Romano reports that further discussions are planned for next week, which indicates that progress might be made soon.

Indications are that Tottenham could be getting ready to welcome a high calibre centre-back, so watch this space for more updates.
