“Clive Allen Marvels at 22-Year-Old Tottenham Player’s Remarkable Offensive Abilities”

Football icon Clive Allen was left in awe by Oliver Skipp’s exceptional performance in the first half of the match against West Ham.

Spurs clashed with their London rivals at Optus Stadium in Perth, marking their first pre-season under the stewardship of Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou must have been encouraged by his team’s first-half exhibition, despite trailing 2-0 at the break. The team let in two goals due to defensive mishaps during set-piece situations.

However, Spurs created numerous chances in the first half, including one from Oliver Skipp.

Despite having his shot brilliantly saved by Lukasz Fabianski, Skipp’s impressive first-half left an impact. Clive Allen shared his thoughts about the midfielder’s performance on Spurs Play at half-time.

Allen Inspired by Skipp’s Performance

Allen felt that Skipp was given more space to move forward in today’s match against West Ham and applauded the young player for thriving in this newfound space.

“Skippy was leading the attack and then Porro moved down the right side and provided him support, this is a positive sign,” he said.

“He has been the most menacing threat. In my opinion, the way Oliver Skipp has moved forward and even outpaced Harry Kane has been marvellous.”

Skipp has primarily served in a duo midfield since making it into Tottenham’s starting squad because of the favoured system by ex-coach Antonio Conte.

However, in today’s match, the Englishman played in a three-man midfield and showed vitality while on the offensive for Spurs.

Skipp was substituted at half-time when Tottenham was losing 2-0, and Postecoglou introduced a fresh set of players for the remaining game.

Tottenham managed to score through Giovani Lo Celso and Destiny Udogie, clawing their way back into the match.

Nonetheless, Gianluca Scamacca scored, going against the flow of the match, and secured a 3-2 victory for West Ham over Spurs.
