Tottenham is gearing up to acquire Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic in light of the possible exit of Harry Kane during the summer.

Vlahovic has drawn the attention of several football clubs. Uncertainty over his own tenure in Turin has attracted the interest of both Tottenham and Chelsea, both known admirers of the Serbian player.

According to sports journalist Rudy Galetti, Tottenham is accelerating its intentions to secure Vlahovic.

In a recentTwitter post, Galetti confirmed that Tottenham is indeed in serious contention for Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has also been a target for another London club, Arsenal, for some time now. In early 2022, the Gunners made considerable efforts to secure the towering striker.

Vlahovic’s move to Juve hasn’t been smooth, with his goal scoring run being inconsistent. Given that Juventus is grappling with off-the-pitch issues, a potential transfer for Vlahovic seems likely.

As Harry Kane’s possible departure looms, Tottenham needs a solid backup plan. Speculation is rife about a potential shift of Kane to Bayern Munich.

In that case, Vlahovic could be the ideal replacement for Kane at Spurs.

Vlahovic Doesn’t Quite Match Harry Kane

However, that’s not to say he isn’t a talented striker in his own right. Vlahovic possesses abilities that Kane may not, such as blazing speed.

If Tottenham decides to let Kane go, it will be crucial to replace him with another high-profile forward.

Kane’s exit would cause a gaping hole in the Tottenham squad, but Vlahovic has the potential to make a decent attempt to fill it.

Vlahovic will look to regain the form that saw him excel at Fiorentina. If stepping into Kane’s boots is what it takes to bring out the best in him, he’s up for it.
