Celtic Duo Reunion with Postecoglou at Tottenham Appears Improbable

Following the announcement of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, it was inevitable that Tottenham would be linked with several players from Celtic.

The Celtic squad holds several talented individuals who have flourished notably under Postecoglou’s leadership. Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi are two such names frequently mentioned since Postecoglou joined the Spurs.

Despite such rumours, Sky Sports’ journalist, Michael Bridge, states that it seems unlikely that a Celtic reunion is in the immediate future.

“From what I gather, it’s currently not on the table. Postecoglou’s thorough understanding of the Asian market was significant in Celtic’s impressive first season with him at the helm. They effortlessly outshined their competition,” shares Bridge.

“Three of his most fruitful acquisitions – Kyogo, Reo Hatate, and Jota – are likely disappointed about his move and have showcased competency to play at higher levels. However, whether they meet Tottenham’s expectations is questionable.”

Up until now, Tottenham has been quite active in the transfer market to support their new manager, Postecoglou. They have secured the services of James Maddison, goalkeeper Vicario, and Manor Solomon, whose announcement is expected soon.

Nevertheless, as of now, it doesn’t seem like Tottenham will be making any acquisitions from Celtic.

A Step Towards Progress

Such rumors were bound to circulate. Hatate, known for his ‘exceptional’ talents, is seen as a potential fit for the Premier League.

While the competitive gap between Scotland and England is sizeable, Postecoglou’s awareness of these players, combined with a lack of strong pursuit, speaks volumes.

So far, Tottenham’s business seems sound. Naturally, recruiting Hatate and Kyogo could enhance the squad’s depth.

However, nurturing their impact on the first XI, which is the immediate requirement for Spurs, remains debatable.
