There will be no summer move for Levi Colwill away from Chelsea.

Dean Jones, speaking in the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, has debunked the rumors around the defender’s potential shift to either Tottenham or Liverpool.

Even though both Spurs and Jurgen Klopp’s team have exhibited interest, Jones reveals that Chelsea is not open to dialogue about a £40m transfer involving Colwill.

On the contrary, it is expected that Chelsea will give Colwill an opportunity with the first-team next season, bolstered by possibly a new contract, says Jones.

Colwill to Remain at Chelsea

Jones expressed his knowledge about the defensive player.

“No, the matter is really clear-cut. Chelsea has shown no inclination of letting him go. In fact, they envision him playing for the first-team and signing a fresh contract. Transfer discussions are not a possibility right now,” Jones explained.

Reasons Against Selling

Chelsea have made some monumental blunders in selling their promising young athletes in recent times.

Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah, and Romelu Lukaku are among the players who were let go by Chelsea prematurely, and the club should be cautious to avoid similar errors.

The west London team boasts one of the premier football academies, and Colwill has shown potential to be the standout talent in the current class of trainees.

Chelsea’s decision to keep Colwill sounds reasonable. Although it could potentially disappoint Tottenham and Liverpool, it’s crucial for Chelsea to hold their ground in this scenario.
