Rising Tottenham Player Invited to First-Team Practice by Ange Postecoglou

Rising Tottenham Hotspur talent Brooklyn Lyons-Foster participated in first-team practice at Hotspur Way today.

Ange Postecoglou has officially assumed his duties at Tottenham after his appointment as Antonio Conte’s permanent replacement last month. 

The Australian leader was seen coaching his players as he prepares for his introductory season in the Premier League.

Key players such as Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Richarlison are yet to return to North London following their international duties.

However, the coming weeks provide Postecoglou an opportunity to evaluate some of the lesser-known players at Spurs, as well as those emerging from the academy. 

Lyons-Foster was indeed seen practicing with the first-team today.

Lyons-Foster Gets the Call from Postecoglou

A photo of Lyons-Foster appeared on Tottenham’s official Twitter account, showing him at the receiving end of a tackle from Tanguy Ndombele, who is back from loan.

While Lyons-Foster has not yet debuted for Spurs, he was a regular for the Under-21s team last season, with 17 games in Premier League 2 under his belt.

While primarily a central defender, Lyons-Foster has seen time in the midfield during his tenure in the Spurs academy.

Over the coming weeks, Postecoglou is expected to take a closer look at his squad and make crucial decisions about players’ futures.

With a squad that needs downsizing ahead of the new season and no European football to prepare for, Tottenham has some decisions to make.

Players such as Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon may have unsure futures at this point. It will be fascinating to observe if any emerging players receive more opportunities under Postecoglou’s supervision.

Lyons-Foster, like many young talents at Tottenham, is still waiting for his first-team chance, and a loan could present the perfect opportunity.
