Despite Tottenham Hotspur expressing interest in him, Conor Gallagher may choose to hold off deciding on his future until the transfer window is about to close.
Graeme Bailey, a known journalist, shared this prediction on the Talking Transfers Podcast while talking about the England international.
Although Tottenham have already been active in the summer transfer market, it appears they aren’t finished with their recruitment just yet.
The club is anticipated to sign Manor Solomon next, succeeded by a minimum of one centre-back.
There’s also a possibility that some players will depart Tottenham.
Some members of the squad may not require a replacement, considering Ange Postecoglou’s team is overstaffed for the coming season.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has piqued Atletico Madrid’s interest, may be one such player to exit, making room for Postecoglou to bring in someone more attuned to his gameplay.
Conor Gallagher, from Chelsea, could be the ideal box-to-box player for Tottenham.
Tottenham has contemplated signing the highly-valued (£50m) player this summer, but no substantial progress has been made so far.
It has been suggested that Gallagher might postpone his decision on his future until the closing of the transfer window, which could pique Tottenham’s interest.
If he decided to move on, he would have a multitude of potential suitors.

About the 23-year-old, Bailey noted: “The move is plausible and I think Gallagher belongs to the category of players who won’t finalize their plans until late August, by which time we’ll know his circumstances.”
“Presumably, Gallagher is also waiting for the season’s opening match.”
“It is often observed in the Premier League that players won’t ascertain their actual status in the squad until the first weekend of the league. Regardless of pre-season assurances, if they find themselves on the bench during the first match, they will likely become available, and there will be a few at Chelsea who experience this.”
Like Tottenham, Chelsea is dealing with an oversized squad, but they are still short of options in the middle of the park, which could imply that Gallagher’s services will be required at the season’s start.
Nonetheless, if he becomes redundant, Tottenham could seize the opportunity to recruit Gallagher at the closing stages of the transfer window.
Given that he is a locally trained player with tremendous potential, Gallagher would suit Postecoglou’s aggressive style of play well.
