Tottenham Locals’ Opinions on German Reporter’s Harry Kane Press Conference Prank

Yesterday, Tottenham Hotspur’s head coach Ange Postecoglou experienced an unusual occurrence during a press conference before a friendly match with Leicester City.

Throughout his early days with Spurs, questions regarding Harry Kane’s future have been constant, particularly with rumours tying the English striker to Bayern Munich.

Until now, Postecoglou has adeptly responded to queries about Kane’s future, but it’s safe to say that the incident at yesterday’s conference did not sit well with the Tottenham coach.

Max Schrader, a reporter for Bild, provocatively displayed a Bayern Munich jersey with Harry Kane’s name and the number nine on the back.

“How does this look?” asked the reporter. “Pretty great, right?”

“I’m not sure what you’re getting at,” replied Postecoglou. “Did you find it amusing? Did you get the response you were hoping for? Good. You made quite an effort for that, thanks.”

The Daily Mail has reported that following the prank, the German reporter has been excluded from future Tottenham press conferences.

The stunt did not find favour with the Spurs community.

Tottenham’s Response to Kane Prank

According to Football.London, the prank was not appreciated within Tottenham.

The club feels it was an act of disrespect towards Kane, Postecoglou and the team in general.

It’s not surprising that the prank did not sit well with Tottenham’s staff, especially given Bayern’s open interest in Kane.

The future of Kane, who has just one year left in his contract with Spurs, is already making headlines.

Despite the onslaught of questions, Postecoglou has managed the situation commendably, though he was visibly irked by the recent episode – an understandable reaction.

In the coming weeks, as Postecoglou gears up for his first full season in charge, Tottenham is likely hoping to resolve this issue once and for all.
