Spurs Might Acquire £35m Player Alongside Tapsoba, Reports Alasdair Gold

Tottenham Hotspur is eyeing a possible dual signing of both Micky Van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba, as is believed to happen this summer.

Alasdair Gold, an authority in Spurs’ current hunt for defensive reinforcement, has identified these players to be their main focus.

Spurs urgency on defense refurbishment is obvious according to Gold, with Tapsoba and Van de Ven as the top contenders for the club’s pick.

While it was previously thought that Tottenham would only sign one of either Tapsoba or Van de Ven, Gold clarifies through his YouTube channel that the club is not dismissing the idea of signing both players.

Spurs’ Potential Dual Acquisition

Gold imparts some information into Tottenham’s pursuit of central defenders:

“The spotlight is on central defenders, this is the area that needs immediate attention,” Gold stated.

“We are aware of the top choices, Van de Ven and Tapsoba are the names making rounds, while dialogues with Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen have been initiated accordingly. No decision has been made as yet on signing both of them, but that would imply some players will have to leave.”

High-Priced Recruitments

It would be a tremendous proclamation of ambition if Tottenham succeeds in securing both deals.

Tapsoba is reportedly valued at a price of £45m, and Van de Ven is £10m less. Both players summed up would cost around £80m.

Recruiting top-tier players in modern football decidedly addresses the need for significant investment. However, this is a serious financial commitment by Spurs, particularly considering their earlier hefty expenditure on James Maddison during this summer.
