The Spurs’ previous interest in a player favored by Antonio Conte, a former Tottenham Coach, may be reignited.

Indeed, as per reports from Di Marzio, Tottenham appears to be actively considering the acquisition of Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus, with discussions underway with his representatives about a possible move.

During Antonio Conte’s management tenure, Cambiaso, an Italian full-back, was strongly associated with Tottenham. Given the renewed interest, it seems Spurs is considering making another move for the player.

It isn’t entirely unexpected to see Tottenham revisiting Cambiaso. They continue to show interest in the Serie A market.

Upon signing Guglielmo Vicario, it was clear that Tottenham’s pursuit of Serie A prospects was far from over. This could likely be due to reports suggesting that Fabio Paratici still plays an advisory role in transfers.

Reportedly, Paratici is said to maintain significant influence over Tottenham’s transfer plans and could be a key driving force behind the renewed interest in Cambiaso as he was a target during Paratici’s regime when Conte was in charge.

Interestingly, the £8m-rated player may fit Ange Postecoglou’s coach and play-style better than Antonio Conte’s.

Cambiaso, the £8m defender, primarily functioned as a full-back last season rather than a wing-back and this would be more suitable for Ange Postecoglou’s preferred four-at-the-back system over Conte’s 3-4-3 style.

However, as Cambiaso is a versatile player who has also played as a right-back and central midfielder, his acquisition would certainly add depth to the Spurs team, should the deal materialize.

While it’s too early to confirm the deal, the Spurs’ pursuit of a left-back and their ongoing interest in Cambiaso suggest that this potential acquisition is worth monitoring.
