“Sports Writer Suggests 26-Year-Old Midfielder May Join Spurs Under Postecoglou’s Leadership”

Daichi Kamada’s potential transfer to AC Milan is off, alerting various European clubs.

The ex-athlete of Eintracht Frankfurt is now an unrestricted free agent. Graeme Bailey thinks that Tottenham might join the pool of teams considering him.

Moreover, Bailey mentioned in the Talking Transfers Podcast about the long-standing interest of Spurs in Kamada. This is particularly due to Ange Postecoglou’s familiarity with him from the J-League period and his known habit of recruiting high-performing Japanese players during his tenure at Celtic.

Kamada could be a good fit for Spurs

Bailey gave his thoughts about Kamada.

“Daichi Kamada is a player I admire greatly. His availability for free is intriguing. AC Milan had agreed to a deal, but they kept delaying it and now it is not approved. Clubs like Dortmund, Inter, and Napoli have expressed interest, as had Tottenham and Newcastle previously. Ange Postecoglou is very knowledgeable about Japanese talent and there’s no better player than Kamada available. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tottenham re-engage in this deal,” said Bailey.

Difficult Odds

A few weeks in the past, Tottenham signing Kamada would have made perfect sense.

Kamada could have been an optimal offensive midfielder in Ange Postecoglou’s structure. But now, a complication has arisen.

Recently, Spurs signed James Maddison from Leicester, meaning Kamada might find it challenging to secure a spot in the team.

Even though Kamada could serve as backup, a player of his stature deserves first-team status at a Champions League club, rather than sitting on the bench for a club not participating in European football.

Regrettably, this deal may not become a reality.
