Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence, a defender, might miss the club’s pre-season tour of Australia due to an injury issue.
An update from Football London provides further insights into the team’s condition before their Australian journey.
Spurs had planned this tour before enlisting Australian Ange Postecoglou as their new manager.
This is set to be a warm welcome for the ex-Celtic head coach, who will be overseeing his inaugural Tottenham match in Perth versus West Ham in the coming week.
Postecoglou is likely to utilize this period to evaluate his novel line-up as thoroughly as possible before the season commences.
Unfortunately, he is already faced with multiple health-related queries before the start of any official game.
Rodrigo Bentancur has been ruled out due to a severe injury he sustained towards the conclusion of the previous season.

In addition, Djed Spence may miss Tottenham’s pre-season tour after his stint with Rennes was prematurely ended due to a knee problem.
Being on the defensive is the last thing he requires while trying to secure a spot in Posteceglou’s team.
Especially, as he is contending with multiple competitors for the right-back position in the Spurs line-up.
Spence faces injury predicament ahead of Tottenham tour
According to the report from Football London, Spence, together with Troy Parrott, might not be in a condition to participate in the tour.
The £20m defender has faced several challenges since his transfer to Tottenham from Middlesbrough the previous summer.
Spence gained widespread attention following an impressive Championship campaign with Nottingham Forest that saw them gaining promotion.
However, he was not included in Antonio Conte’s plans and hence he went on to join Rennes under Joe Rodon’s management for a loan tenure in the season’s latter half.
Before getting injured, he competed in ten matches for the French club. Now, his continuity with Spurs remains uncertain.

Half a year ago, Conte recruited Pedro Porro. Given the expenditure associated with his tenure, Spence will likely face stiff competition for the right-back position from him and Emerson Royal.
Spence is hopeful of joining the Tottenham team on their Australian tour to prevent falling down the selection hierarchy again.
He needs to contemplate a temporary or permanent move away from the club if he’s going to be the third-choice for another successive season.
