Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur’s coach, has voiced his intention to bring on board a new centre-back before the transfer season concludes.
In a press conference in Singapore, as reported by Football London, Postecoglou mentioned that a delay in the centre-back’s arrival would not cause him any irritation.

Addressing the topic of centre-backs, Postecoglou stated: “We’re aiming to recruit a minimum of one.”
“There’s no vexation – this is simply the nature of football. I’ve witnessed enough to be attuned to its functioning.”
The new Spurs coach shared these thoughts in anticipation of their subsequent friendly game vs the Lion City Sailors, a Singaporean team.
The team’s earlier friendly game against Leicester City was terminated at short notice owing to severe rain.
It is fascinating to hear Postecoglou’s thoughts regarding recruiting a new centre-back, given the potential exiting of several players from the club.
A bid of £12.7m for Davinson Sanchez has been approved by Spurs, although the defender is doubtful about making a move to Spartak Moscow.
Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon are also permitted to depart from the club this summer, via either a permanent or loan transfer.
With Postecoglou’s focus on a new recruitment, it’s evident that his Spurs team is taking shape swiftly.
Postecoglou’s desire for a new centre-back at Tottenham
When it comes to Tottenham’s potential recruits for the centre-back role, one name that emerges is Tosin Adarabioyo, the 25-year-old Fulham player.
The defender might part ways with the fellow London team this summer during their own reshuffling of central defenders.

It appears that the demands of Postecoglou’s Tottenham team will deviate from those of the team under the previous manager, Antonio Conte.
While Conte was noted for his strict 3-4-3 formation, Postecoglou has been more experimental with his teams in the past.
While at Celtic, his team underwent continuous adjustments and he feels that his current defence lacks certain essential characteristics.
It would be intriguing to observe who Tottenham targets for the centre-back spot and what they would contribute to the team.
Defender Cristian Romero has shown dedication to Tottenham’s new project.
Despite an inconsistent performance this season, the player from Argentina conveyed his willingness to remain with the club for several more years.
A majority of fans are eager to see how Postecoglou will arrange his team for the season’s opening league match, which might include a new defender.
