Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, has voiced out his eager anticipation to start a professional journey with James Maddison.
During his first press conference since his appointment as Spurs’ boss, via Football London, Postecoglou aired his statement.
The Australian tactician was swift to secure two crucial signings in the transfer window.
In the first instance, Guglielmo Vicario was signed from Emploi to replace the club’s captain, Hugo Lloris, as the goalkeeper.
Next in line was James Maddison, the star of Leicester City, signed in a £40m deal.
Maddison, an England international, was signed to fill the void in Tottenham’s team left by Christian Eriksen’s departure.

Postecoglou usually employs three central midfielders in his games, favoring one to serve as an assertive, creative force.
During his time at Celtic Matt O’Riley served this role, scoring three goals and making 12 assists.
Postecoglou has a keen interest in training Maddison at Tottenham, aiming to shape him into a player of similar capabilities.
Looking at his last season’s performance at Leicester in the Premier League, it appears Maddison is ready to step up to the challenge.
Postecoglou, Tottenham’s manager, thrilled to engage with Maddison
Discussing the 26-year-old talent, Postecoglou stated: “I’m truly thrilled to welcome him into the team. Any manager would agree that a key to building a dominant team is having a plethora of attack options, including a midfielder who can both create and score goals, a quality not easily found.
“He’s had proven performance at this level in recent years, demonstrating these capabilities.
“Looking at Tottenham in the past few years, they’ve greatly depended on their front three for scoring.
“I perceived it a suitable opportunity to scout for a player like James, and it turned out even better as we ended up signing him.
“I was greatly satisfied and the fact we were able to sign him early is excellent as it provides him some time to rest.”

The early acquisition of Maddison at Tottenham is undoubtedly a positive development for Postecoglou’s tenure.
He’s already been praised as the ‘signature of the summer’, besides having a previous professional relationship with Harry Kane through their time with England.
Such a partnership could potentially encourage even more prolific performance from the centre-forward, provided he stays on the team this summer.
