Fulham Could Be New Home for £17m Tottenham Target if Mitrovic Leaves

Tottenham is considering adding to their attack during the summer transfer period, and Mehdi Taremi has been identified as a potential option.

Their interest in Taremi, a £17m forward, arose last week as they sought a possible replacement for Harry Kane. However, Spurs may not be the only Premier League team exploring new striker options in the near future.

Detailed by Dean Jones on the Fulhamish Podcast, Fulham are also showing interest in Taremi, in the event that Aleksandar Mitrovic departs for Al-Hilal.

Fulham’s Interest in Taremi

Jones provided insights into Fulham’s potential interest in the Iranian forward.

“It’s discouraging, he really wants to move. I spoke to someone covering Al-Hilal and I believe that their budget would have to stretch to over £50m, but it’s doubtful they would do so,” Jones observed.

“I want this news to be thrilling; should we have to say goodbye to Mitro, I want to have something to look forward to this season.

“Players usually get what they desire, I hope Mitro doesn’t intend to force his exit. Mehdi Taremi’s name came up as a possible replacement for him, and personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to that”.

Proceed with Caution

Fulham needs to handle this matter delicately.

If Mitrovic ends up moving to Saudi Arabia, his scoring contributions would need to be filled and Taremi, who has a history of netting goals for fun in Portugal, may not be the most reliable option. The Portuguese League remains an unpredictable arena for scouting talent.

Let’s recall Carlos Vinicius. He was a Golden Boot winner in Portugal, but both Tottenham and Fulham can attest that he didn’t quite reach the same level of success in the Premier League.

Essentially, opting for Taremi would be a gamble for Fulham.
