Despite persistent efforts to acquire Harry Kane, Bayern Munich is increasingly worried that, with all the public attention, the deal might fall through.
The media has heavily covered Bayern’s chase for Kane, but to date, no agreement has been reached, due to Daniel Levy’s unyielding stance.
While Bayern remains hopeful about bringing Kane on board, the leverage has shifted after their honorary president, Uli Hoeness, publicly spoke about Kane last week.

“If Harry Kane stands by his decision, as he has clearly communicated in all our discussions, we’ll close the deal because Tottenham will have to give in,” Hoeness said.
However, a recent report in the Daily Mail’s (latest transfer confidential newsletter) suggests that Bayern is concerned that Hoeness’s speech might have simply made Levy more resolute.
Bayern, the reigning Bundesliga champions, now fear dealing with an even more inflexible Levy. Known for his tough negotiations when selling his top players, they fear Hoeness’ comments may have set them back.
While Kane has recently met with new Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou, details of their discussion remain undisclosed.
Speculations suggest that Tottenham and Levy are demanding upwards of £100m if they are to even entertain the idea of releasing Kane.
More Power to Levy’s Elbow
Bayer can’t help but be irritated at Hoeness. His provoking comments have likely further strengthened Levy’s resolve and he is expected to maintain his stance.
Bayer really didn’t need to agitate Levy any further. His unwillingness to sell coupled with the latest remarks only amplifies his position.
Kane must be puzzled by the developments. At the end of the day, if Bayern is serious about its interest, it needs to stump up the demanded sum or move on.
