Wolves on the Verge of Outbidding Tottenham with an Increased Offer for Alex Scott

Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers have set their sights on the acquisition of Alex Scott, a player of high interest.

According to various sources, both clubs have set their gaze on the Bristol City middle player, who is included among the best rising stars of the English Football League (EFL).

Last month, Ben Jacobs revealed that Tottenham are ahead in the competition to secure this emerging talent.

The Telegraph, however, recently brought out that Wolves are seemingly trying to outdo Spurs in this race.

The national daily reported that Wolves are set to make an offer exceeding £20 million for the 19-year-old sportsman.

They are on the cusp of submitting a revised bid that matches more closely with the club’s fixed £25 million appraisal of Scott.

The Championship team had previously turned down an £18 million initial bid from Wolves.

Scott has also received a bid from Bournemouth in addition to interest from Wolves and Tottenham, which was refused too.

It’s not unexpected to see Wolves and Spurs in contention to secure Scott.

Being only 19, he has consistently displayed impressive form in the second league and seems to possess the potential to be a Premier League player.

Scott has 91 competitive match appearances under his belt for Bristol City, and is an England Under-20 national player.

In line with a 2021 report from Bristol World, similarities have been drawn between Scott and premier league superstars like Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

The comparison is mainly due to their striking dribbling style, their frequency of being fouled, and their signature sock-wearing style, leading to Scott’s nickname – ‘Guernsey Grealish’.

Tony Vance, the manager of Guernsey FC, complimented the player saying Scott possesses the perfect attributes, showing great calmness, balance, and adaptability at all levels of play.

According to Vance, Scott’s present performance suggests a future as a No.10 position player, although only time will confirm this.

It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds, with both Wolves and Tottenham being good prospects for Scott.

In truth, Scott might have greater opportunities for playing time at Wolves at the current stage.

However, the chance to represent Spurs, with their ambition to make a comeback to the Champions League, could prove equally enticing.
