Sport Specialist: Spurs Poised to Secure £13m Defender, Also Eyeing Van de Ven

Tottenham Hotspur is preparing to strengthen their defensive line.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the club is about to confirm Wolfburg’s Micky Van de Ven as their new member. Plus, he might not be the only player solidifying Spurs’ defense.

The Fulhamish Podcast featuring Dean Jones suggests Spurs are frontrunners in acquiring Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

Jones conceded that there hasn’t been an in-depth discussion between Spurs and Fulham about this move. Nevertheless, he believes that the club from north London is at the front of the queue for the player’s signature.

Spurs Leaning Towards Tosin

Jones reveals what he knows about the £13m defender.

The future for Tosin is uncertain, as his stint with Fulham could wind up towards the end of the current transfer window. Tottenham seems to be a potential destination for him despite the discussions until now not being particularly intense. Tosin is considered as one of the feasible targets for the team, which also holds players like Lenglet in its radar. However, from what I perceive, they’re exploring to see who else might be interested in Tosin if he were to leave,” Jones mentioned.

An Impressive Line-Up

Assuming Tottenham manages to secure both Van de Ven and Tosin, their defense is set to be notably robust in the following season.

Considering Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies are already on the team, acquiring Van de Ven and Tosin would give Spurs five capable center-backs to choose from when necessary.

While they may not be among the world’s top defenders, with the correct training and strategy, they can certainly compete at top-flight standards next season.
