“The most recent updates I gave circled around the centre-backs, and it was filled with negativity. It was unpleasant having to provide such bleak news. Additionally, when I heard more, I had to include the complications with Tapsoba’s deal. It’s going to be challenging to pull off. I was away after the tour last week, so it’s possible there might have been some progress, but not that I’ve heard of, unfortunately,” said Eccleshare.

Alternate Course

Given the probable complications with the Tapsoba deal, Tottenham must promptly establish a backup plan.

Acquiring a centre-back this season isn’t solely about enlisting the right person; it’s equally important to recruit the right person at the correct moment.

Centre-backs require adequate time to settle in with their management and fellow teammates before they can kick start their season. Thus, if Tottenham does not secure a deal promptly, they will begin their season at a disadvantage.

Considering the hindrances, Tapsoba may not be the ideal prospect. Hence, Tottenham should start considering other options.
