Chelsea Surpasses Tottenham in Hunt for ‘Impressive’ South American Footballer

Chelsea is actively scouting for fresh talent and appears to be in need of a new defender to fill in for Wesly Fofana.

Fofana’s injury-riddled stay at Chelsea has been far from ideal since his transfer from Leicester.

As per reports by Calciomercato, Chelsea is eyeing Gleison Bremer from Torino as a potential substitute for Fofana.

Bremer has been on the radar of numerous English football clubs, notably Tottenham.

Despite Tottenham’s continued interest, Calciomercato hints that Bremer’s next destination could be Chelsea, given their more cut-and-dry need to fill Fofana’s shoes.

Torino will reportedly entertain offers exceeding £40m, a value within Chelsea’s ability to meet, thanks to their successful player sales.

In addition to Bremer, Chelsea is also in the process of trying to bring Moises Caicedo onboard from Brighton and might add even more players to their rooster.

Though Tottenham is likewise in need of fresh defensive talent, they’ve not yet reported any successful signings, even though their interest in Edmund Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven is well-documented.

Bremer’s Market Value Rising

As both Chelsea and Tottenham ramp up their quest for new defenders, it won’t be a surprise if Bremer eventually makes the move to England.

Chelsea could be an enticing choice. Aside from a clear opportunity to fill a void, he would get the chance to collaborate with Pochettino.

Tottenham could also be a promising option for Bremer. But, at the end of the day, the selection might hinge on which establishment offers a more appealing financial proposition.

Acclaimed as an ‘impressive’ defender following his stint in Italy, Bremer may well become a big hit in the Premier League, provided he makes the move.
