Emerson Royal, a full-back for Tottenham Hotspur, was not included in a group picture taken during training yesterday by his fellow teammates.
The exclusion can be seen in a video on Spurs Play where Emerson tries to join a group picture consisting of Tottenham players including Sergio Reguilon, Yves Bissouma, and Pedro Porro.
The 24-year-old is among the few primary team players who’ve resumed Hotspur Way training, anticipating international players’ return next week.
Though Emerson appears to be liked within the Tottenham squad, he was not in the group photo due to a training loss the previous day.
Emerson Left Out of Group Picture
A video on Spurs Play shows Emerson attempting to slip into the winners’ photo, but was quickly stopped by Bissouma.
In the video, Bissouma can be seen repeatedly saying ‘no’ to the Brazilian defender.
Subsequently, Reguilon lightheartedly pushes Emerson away from the group.
Despite being sent away, the former Barcelona player persisted in his efforts to join the group photo. He seemed to protest that he was part of the winning team yesterday.
He engaged in playful confrontations with both Reguilon and Bissouma. They attempted to push Emerson away, but he persisted.
The Tottenham players humorously applauded Emerson when he finally ceased trying to join the picture.
With coach Postecoglou, Emerson looks ready for a productive season as he will be playing in a more customary position.
His troubles as a right wing-back were notable during Antonio Conte’s period, as he struggled to make his mark in the final third.
Prior to joining Spurs in 2021, Emerson had played his entire career as a full-back.
Postecoglou is expected to utilise him as part of the back-four, allowing Spurs fans to potentially witness Emerson’s finest performance.
