This summer, Tottenham Hotspur has shown commendable actions in the transfer market.
Spurs finalised the signing of Dejan Kulusevski and successfully recruited Guglielmo Vicario, as well as James Maddison.
Under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham is moving forward at a swift pace in a positive way.

Spurs are now looking to bring in a new defender, an area of the team that Postecoglou seems keen to strengthen.
In the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Tottenham’s hunt for a centre-back.
He mentioned Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven as potential recruits for Spurs.
“Discussions are currently being held with people around Tapsoba,” Romano noted.
“In my estimation,” he further expounded, “Tottenham will secure one of them.
“They may also get another defender that won’t break the bank.
“At this moment, the top priority is Micky van de Ven.
“Tapsoba remains a solid option, although he’s pricier, hence looking expensive.”
‘Instant bolstering for Postecoglou’s defence’
It’s promising to learn that Tottenham reportedly has an interest in two able defenders: Tapsoba and Van de Ven.
However, it’s not surprising if Spurs decide to go for only one, considering that both would entail considerable financial commitment.
Tapsoba is estimated to be worth about £50 million, while Van de Ven holds a price tag of around £30 million.
Romano’s view seems to align with Alasdair Gold of football.london.
The publication regards Tapsoba as ‘an instant bolstering for Postecoglou’s defence’ due to his ball skills, power, and quickness.
“The player from Burkina Faso has had way more Bundesliga exposure compared to Van de Ven’s, with 100 appearances, in addition to Champions League and Europa League experience.”

The ‘outstanding’ defender has recorded a maximum speed of 33.68kph in the Bundesliga.
This places him among Europe’s swiftest defenders.
As per The Speeds Database, Tapsoba outperforms Tottenham’s speed demon Ryan Sessegnon, who clocks in at 33.60kph.
Although Tapsoba meets many of Tottenham’s requirements, the same holds true for Van de Ven.
