For some time now, the transfer of Ashley Phillips to Tottenham has been in the works.
Two weeks ago, the outstanding defender was said to be undergoing a medical at Spurs, but the deal experienced unexpected issues.
Despite the hurdles, it appears that the move is finally going to take place.
As reported by Sky Sports News correspondent Chris Latcham, the information coming from Blackburn Rovers indicates that they are prepared for Phillips to make his Tottenham move by the end of the week.

Blackburn Prepares for Phillips’ Departure
Latcham relayed his knowledge of the situation.
“Blackburn has agreed to a transfer fee of approximately £2.5m from Luton Town for their goalie Thomas Kaminski. The Belgian is set to undergo a medical and finalize the move. Meanwhile, Blackburn expects Ashley Phillips to relocate to Tottenham by the end of the week as his release clause takes effect on Friday,” shared Latcham.

Important Weekend Looms
Tottenham could have a significant weekend ahead, particularly regarding new defensive acquisitions.
By the end of the week, Phillips is set to seal his transition to Spurs. Notably, Micky Van de Ven is also nearing his full-time transfer to the north London club.
Just like buses in London, Tottenham followers have been eager for a central defender signing throughout the summer, and now two are expected to arrive concurrently.
Whether Spurs will onboard a third new central defender is yet to be determined. However, given the subpar defensive performance last season, it’s plausible that more defensive recruitments may be on Tottenham’s radar.
