Ange Postecoglou summons Matthew Craig, the young prospect from Tottenham Hotspur, for first-team practice.
Matthew Craig’s presence during a training session was observed in a video shared on Tottenham’s official Twitter handle yesterday. This comes as Postecoglou is actively preparing for his inaugural season in the Premier League.
For the next few weeks, the Australian manager will engage with a selective set of players until the club’s international talents report back for off-season practice sessions.
This opportunity will enable him to closely evaluate some of Tottenham’s lesser-utilised players, along with new talents emerging from the academy.
Notably, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster has already appeared in first-team training under Postecoglou, and Craig joined the group at Hotspur Way yesterday.

Postecoglou includes Craig in practice
Craig was seen training intensively in a video shared by Tottenham’s official Twitter account yesterday.
Last season, the 20-year-old was a regular for the Under-21s team, with a record total of 32 appearances.
He also made his Premier League debut on the season’s final day when he was brought in as a late substitute in the 4-1 victory over Leeds.
Craig aims to build on this encouraging season-end as he leverages the opportunity afforded to him by Ryan Mason.
Yet, it remains uncertain whether Postecoglou will place his trust in the youth squad members at Spurs.

In recent years, Tottenham’s young prospects have struggled to break into the first-team, with Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho opting for more seasoned athletes.
However, this tendency could shift under Postecoglou’s guidance, with Craig keen to distinguish himself during off-season training.
Craig, a Scottish midfielder, inked a new three-year contract over the weekend. He seems to have a promising career at Spurs awaiting him.
